Monitoring standards updated

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) has updated the Registrar’s Standards for Gaming: Lottery Sector to allow terminals equipped with built-in cameras to be offered to Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s (OLG) registered sellers, the regulator said.

The amendments to Standard 3.2.2, Requirements 7b and 7c are effective as of October 28th, 2026, according to the AGCO.

Camera footage requirements

The change to Standard 3.2.2, Requirement 7b clarifies that camera footage must capture the individual at the self-serve lottery terminal rather than the terminal itself, the regulator said.

The change to Standard 3.2.2, Requirement 7c adds that video footage for terminals with built-in cameras must be retained for 14 days, the AGCO said.

All video recordings shall be retained for a minimum of seven days or fourteen days where the camera is built into the self-serve lottery terminal, according to the updated standard.

The AGCO said the amendments “expand monitoring options for self-serve lottery terminals (SSTs) providing flexibility for Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s (OLG) SST Program.”
